Lack of energy
SIR - Nigel Baker does his case no good by suggesting that surplus electricity can be stored (January 2).
The Dinorwig installation does provide an element of storage, but even this, the biggest civil engineering scheme ever undertaken in Europe, only provides short-term storage on what is in industrial terms a relatively small amount of current.
Anyone who manages to devise an effective way of storing electricity will go a long way towards solving the world's power problems.
