Spanish-owned Gamesa, based in Newport, have revealed plans for 14 wind turbines in the Upper Afan Valley. This proposal under the "working title" Llynfi Renewable Energy Park, is to comprise of four, 603ft turbines on Ynyscorrwg and ten, 603ft turbines on the Gelli Mountain, near Croeserw. These turbines would be by far the largest yet proposed for the UK, well over four times the height of Swansea's Big Wheel.
